Clicking a white pet would involve using a larger f stop than the meter reading. Close down one or two f stop to get a better color capture when clicking a dark pet.
We mentioned earlier how pre focusing the lens is important, and the subject should be focused on a very particular point. If the pet is out of focus, the flaw can be hidden by simply focusing on the eye. To get an appealing picture we need to keep the eye in focus.
A pet with dark feathers or fur surrounding a dark eye must be photographed by taking note of a highlight in the eye. Switching on a light can achieve this effect just as good as turning the pet’s face towards the sun. Your pet’s photo can turn from awesome to bad because of the background. Try and position your pet in front of a plain background. Your pet will stand out in the picture if you use a simpler background.
Keeping a friend nearby when you click the pictures is a good idea. When your friend has your pet distracted is when you can get good pictures.
